One of the most exciting parts of my work as a real estate and hospitality photographer in Sedona is getting to showcase brand-new spaces before the rest of the world gets to experience them. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Duck Pond, the newly constructed cliffside pool at L’Auberge de Sedona — and let me tell you, this place is pure magic.
Capturing the Vision
From the moment I arrived, it was clear that Duck Pond was designed to be more than just a pool. It’s perched high above Oak Creek with panoramic red rock views, blending seamlessly into Sedona’s natural landscape. My job was to capture not only the sleek lines of the new design but also the feeling of stepping into this one-of-a-kind retreat.
Timing was everything. The early light brought out the warm textures of the stonework, while the evening glow turned the water into a mirror reflecting the surrounding cliffs. By working with the L’Auberge team, we planned each shot to highlight the pool’s character — from wide drone views of the cliffside setting to intimate details like the lounge seating and water reflections.
Working With the L’Auberge Team
One of my favorite parts of this shoot was collaborating directly with the staff and design team at L’Auberge. They poured their heart into making Duck Pond a signature experience, and it was important to me to reflect that vision in every image. Together, we walked the space, identified the must-have angles, and made sure the photos told a complete story — not just of the pool, but of the serene luxury their guests can expect.
Why Photography Matters for New Builds
When a property unveils something new — whether it’s a pool, a remodel, or a brand-new home — professional photography is the first impression people will see. For Duck Pond, the images we created will help L’Auberge showcase this stunning addition across their marketing, from websites to social media to print.
That’s what I love about this work: helping clients bring their vision to life and giving potential guests or buyers a real sense of what it’s like to be there.
Wrapping Up
Photographing Duck Pond was an incredible experience, and I’m honored to have helped L’Auberge share this new chapter in their story. Sedona is full of beautiful spaces, but this one truly stands out as something special.
If you’re launching a new build or renovation and want to showcase it in the best light, let’s connect. I’d love to help you capture your project in a way that inspires and excites your audience.
See you on the next shoot,
– Andrew
